Application guide

1 Find out more

Before you apply you will need to decide what you want to study. Click www.westking.ac.uk for the latest information. If you want to meet one of our friendly and fully trained advisors from the Course Information and Financial Advisors Team (CIFA Team), call us on 0870 060 9800 and make an appointment. We offer a free, impartial advice service to help you decide which options will suit you best for your future.

2 Attend an Open Day

Open Days are a great way of finding out more about the College. You will have the chance to meet students and staff, learn about the courses and tour the Centres.

3 Complete an application form as early as possible

If you apply late in the academic year, you are less likely to be offered a place on your chosen course and may need to consider alternatives. We can help you with this. However, to get the best opportunity of your first choice of course, please apply as early as possible.

4 Receive confirmation

The College will write to you to confirm that your application has been received. If you have not received this within two weeks, call 0870 060 9800 to track your application.

5 Receive an invitation to attend an interview

If you are eligible to join your chosen course you will also receive a letter inviting you to attend an interview at a certain time and date.

6 Attend your interview

It is important to attend your interview to ensure that you get an offer of a place on your chosen course. It is not always possible to arrange alternative dates or times. If you really cannot attend the appointment you have been given call 0870 060 9800 for more advice.

7 Receive confirmation of your offer

If successful at interview you will be offered a place at the College subject to your exam results, receipt of a good reference and any other relevant entry criteria.

8 Confirm acceptance of your offer in writing

Once you have received an offer you should confirm acceptance of this offer in writing, by returning the freepost card given to you at interview.

9 Receive an enrolment date

We will send you an enrolment date during August once we have received your acceptance. Enrolment begins from 24 August 2010. It is vital that you attend in person and bring all the information we need with you. We will tell what this when we send you your enrolment date.

Remember you will not be guaranteed a place on your course until you have fully enrolled and received your Student ID card and signed your Learner Agreement. It is very important to attend the enrolment date that you have been given.
