Levels information

Every time you take a course it has a certain level, for example, GCSEs are classed as level 2 qualifications. The level of course that you choose should depend on the qualifications and skills that you already have. For example, someone who has gained at least 4 GCSEs at grades A*-C could be suitable to progress to a level 3 course.

Pre-Entry to Entry Level & Level 1

If school didn't work out for you these courses will help you to move ahead. You can study on a vocational course and learn Functional Skills in English, Maths and IT. For example, Foundation Diploma and Foundation Learning Tier.

Level 2

These courses are good for those who have achieved GCSE passes at D or E or a level 1 qualification and want to build their skills before moving on to a level 3 course. For example, Higher Diploma or BTEC First Diploma.

Level 3

Vocational and academic courses are available at this level. Both earn UCAS points to go onto university or employment. For example, Advanced Diploma, A-Levels or BTEC National Diploma.

Higher Education

These courses are at university level. For example, Foundation Degrees or Honours Degrees. Westminster Kingsway College offers both Vocational and Academic programmes of study. Both offer entry to university and employment as well as Functional Skills, Tutorial support, access to College resources and the opportunity to gain work experience.
