About the course

The International Culinary Diploma is our dedicated programme for students from the UK and all over the world who want to learn at the premier UK Culinary Arts establishment in the heart of London. This programme is intended for students studying towards the Westminster Kingsway College Culinary Arts Certificate and Professional Cookery qualifications.
 
The practical aim of this fast-track course is to present students with a comprehensive understanding of Culinary Arts and the classical skills required to work in the top professional kitchens of the world. This course will enable you to develop your career path within the International Hospitality industry. In order to benefit from the very best teaching of Culinary Arts in the UK, each class size for this programme will usually be no larger than 14 students per class. Continual assessment will be undertaken during the course to provide evidence of culinary expertise in all aspects of kitchen skills undertaken within the teaching kitchen. Our students will have access to the excellent facilities at Westminster Kingsway College which include specialist teaching kitchens for butchery, patisserie, baking and food preparation. You will be assessed on this course through practical observation as well as a final examination and written analysis. You will study both Patisserie and Confectionery and Kitchen and Larder specialist techniques that are essential in today’s modern professional kitchen. You will also complete modules on web design and e-business to help you to develop your own business.
 
At Westminster Kingsway College, you will have access to outstanding teaching, excellent facilities and specialist skills training while you study. You will develop your complete understanding of essential commodities and will graduate with the comprehensive understanding of the preparation, cooking and finishing methods of Culinary Arts. You will also learn the leadership skills and an understanding of the Hospitality Industry that will assist you in your professional future.
 
Course timetable: This course will follow a 24 week programme where you will be assessed through a project and monitoring of your progress. As Westminster Kingsway College has excellent links with the Hospitality Industry, you will also enjoy a period of professional work experience (unpaid) as part of your course programme.
 
Course Fee: The fee for this course inclusive of all tuition is £10,000 per person.

What are the entry requirements?

All applicants will be assessed on application for the International Culinary Diploma through an interview process but the application process will take into consideration your education achievements and any work experience that you have. For International applicants, you will need to have completed your secondary school education. You will also need to have an IELTS score of 4.5 or equivalent English qualification.

On the International Culinary Diploma, you will also receive:

      •Industry visits to employers, catering suppliers and food producers
      •Supplier and expert chef demonstrations
      •Membership of the Westminster Kingsway College alumni and membership of the Craft Guild of Chefs
      •The opportunity to become a member of Westminster Kingsway College’s International award winning Culinary Arts Competition Team
 

What could I do next?

Once you have completed the International Culinary Diploma at Westminster Kingsway College you can progress to higher level study in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management at the College. You can also progress into employment in the hospitality industry.
