About the course
• Developed in collaboration with industry partners and enable the trainee to benefit from paid employment alongside their training.
• Study at College one day per week to build practical skills and knowledge in all areas of the industry; the Apprenticeship also includes further skills development and assessment in the workplace alongside the job.
• Practical training course for those who are interested in working in a professional kitchen and/or restaurant environment. Apprenticeships suit those who are working in the industry and would like to learn vocational skills on a day release basis or those who aspire to work in the hospitality industry and would like to combine a work placement with College study.
• Each Apprenticeships Level in this area will take approximately one year to complete.
• You will also develop your craft skills and will build on your practical knowledge and skills to be able to work in a competent manner within a professional catering environment.
• Demonstrations by guest chefs will feature as part of the course and you will also complete technical certificates to be advised by the course tutor.
What are the entry requirements?
Either working already or looking for paid employment in a professional kitchen or Hospitality environment. Good understanding of English is essential.
What could I do next?
Progression within your employment to further your experience and knowledge. Progress onto further study at Level 4 with the day release Foundation Degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management.
