Welcome to the Adult Learners section of Westminster Kingsway College.

Westminster Kingsway College offers a unique opportunity to study in central London for vocational qualifications that are tailored to employment opportunities. The College offers a relaxed environment to study and great facilities at our main College Centres.

How to apply

We will help you with the application process at Westminster Kingsway College and ensure that you apply for the best course to suit your skills and abilities.

Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements vary depending on the level of your course. If you have existing qualifications from a country outside the UK and you are not sure which level is right for you please contact the College for more details. We can check your certificates and recommend the most appropriate level and qualification for you. Please contact us for further information.

Higher Education courses (Foundation Degrees, Degrees):

If you want to apply for a Foundation Degree or Degree courses at Westminster Kingsway College then all non-EU applicants interested in only one particular course may apply to the College direct through the International Office.

Overseas (non-EU) candidates applying for Full-time HE courses at more than one institution must do so through UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service).

All home (EU) students must apply for full-time courses through UCAS and part-time courses direct through the College Admissions process. You can contact the International Officer for details of how to apply from overseas.

Further Education courses (including vocational courses):

To apply for a Further Education course at the College, you will need to submit a College application form enclosing copies of your qualifications. For courses at all levels, the College may accept you unconditionally; this will mean that you have shown yourself - on your application form - to be capable of benefiting from the course and of completing it successfully. The College may also respond to your application by making you a conditional offer. This may mean that you must first complete your current course and/or that you must first obtain certification of your English Language competence. Your competence in English, spoken and written, is an important feature of your application and is normally measured by the IELTS, TOEFL or Cambridge tests.

If you are applying for one of our academic courses then the deadline for receipt of your application is 30th May before the start of your course or it may not be processed in time for you to obtain a visa.

What do I need to include with my application?

  • A copy of your passport (and visa if you are in the UK already)
  • Your SELT (IELTS, TOEIC, TOEFL, Pearsons or another English test certificate approved by the UK Border Agency)
  • Photocopies of your other relevant qualifications
  • Work references or statements from your employer (if you are applying for one of our cookery courses or the BA Top up Degree)
  • A personal statement describing your relevant studies and experience in relation to the course you are applying for.
  • Visa applications

Westminster Kingsway College is a licensed sponsor for Tier 4 (student visa) applications. For further information about student visas visit the Home Office website.

If you require the College to support your visa application then the full fee for your course is payable to the college before a visa letter or CAS certificate can be issued. This must be paid by bank draft, credit card or by bank transfer to the College bank account. A CAS Certificate requires a separate fee of £10.00. If your application for a visa is unsuccessful, the fee you have paid will be refunded to you less £50 for administration costs. Additional proof of sufficient maintenance funds for the duration of the study period is required. No refunds can be made once a visa letter or CAS has been issued.

See Fees & Refunds for further information.

The minimum English Language ability level for our academic courses is Cambridge First Certificate Grade B, TOEFL 550 points or IELTS 5.5. Otherwise you will have to study for a longer period in order to be of sufficient standard to continue to the further studies of your choice, such as Foundation Degrees or Vocational courses.

If you apply from outside the EU, you should first obtain an application form either from our website or from our Course Information team (email: courseinfo@westking.ac.uk or call +44 (0)870 060 9800) and return the completed form to:
