1 year - Year 1
What will I study?
•Law Making: Laws made by parliament, judiciary, local authorities and other bodies
•The Legal System: The civil courts and other dispute resolutions, as well as criminal courts, magistrates, and juries. Here you will also look at the legal profession which includes solicitors, barristers, and judges
•The Concept of Liability: An introduction to criminal liability, court procedure and sentencing, as well as looking at liability in negligence, the courts procedure and damages

1 year - Year 2
What will I study?
The major area of law covered at A2 is Criminal Law and Concepts of Law, including:
• Offences against the person: Murder, non-fatal offences against the person, defences, and an evaluation on criminal law
• Offences against property: This includes theft and robbery, burglary, fraud, criminal damage, making off without payment, and defences
• Concepts of law: This is where you will evaluate the law and consider law and justice, law and morality.
After a further year of study to gain A2 qualifications including Law, you could progress to higher education or employment.
General A-Level entry requirements - Three GCSEs at grade B or above plus two further GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent). At least four GCSEs must have been assessed through examination, including English Language and Maths.
What are the additional entry requirements for this course?
Grade B or above in at least one of the following GCSE subjects: English Language, History, Politics, Religious Education (full course) or Sociology and a good reference
For entry to the second year of the A-Level, you will need:
AS Law at grade D or above, the entry requirements for AS Law and a good reference or recommendation from your Tutor.
