Stephen Smith

Professional Chef Diploma – Patisserie & Confectionary

Stephen Smith
“My time at Westminster Kingsway College has been nothing short of exceptional. Being chosen to represent the UK, as well as Westminster Kingsway College, as the confectioner/pastry cook team member for Team UK at WorldSkills Leipzig 2013 and being awarded the Medallion of Excellence was the highlight of my year. I also got two awards from my department, the Emile Lefebvre Pastry Chef of the Year and the Reunion Des Gastronomes Wolsten-Croft Trophy for Outstanding Achievement. The recognition from my chef lecturers meant a lot to me.”

Rebecca Marshman

Chef Apprenticeship with the Hilton Chef Academy

Rebecca Marshman
“I found Apprenticeships to be perfect for me because of the balance of work and study as I couldn't see myself in a classroom for three years. I believe it also gave me an edge in getting used to a professional kitchen. I was never bored as we moved around and learnt different aspects of the hospitality industry, not just the culinary side. There is no end to the skills that you can and do learn on an Apprenticeship. I owe everything to being an Apprentice at Westminster Kingsway College.”
