Short Description
Hospitality Traineeships unlock your potential and prepare you for your future careers by helping you to become ‘work ready'. Traineeships with Westminster Kingsway College provide the essential work preparation training, Maths and English and work experience needed to get an Apprenticeship or other job. Employers provide the valuable work experience placement and interview as part of the programme. Traineeships will normally be for 10 weeks and will include both a work placement and College study. Successful completion of this course could enable you to progress to a Hospitality Apprenticeship or a higher level course while also developing your skills in the workplace.
Access Method
You will spend two days per week in College studying an Introduction to Hospitality plus functional skills (English and Maths). You will also study: Workplace skills | Customer service in Hospitality | Food safety in Hospitality | Health and safety in the workplace. You will also spend three days per week with an employer in the Hospitality Industry learning practical ‘on the job' skills and gaining essential work experience. You will also study communication, teamwork and preparing for interview.
Progression
Successful completion of this course could enable you to progress to a Hospitality Apprenticeship or a higher level course while also developing your skills in the workplace.With the skills and experience gained on your Traineeship, you could progress to an a full-time Apprenticeship, full-time course and progress into the work place. To apply for a Traineeship, you should be over 16 and looking to apply for paid employment. We can help candidates to find placements with employers. You must be looking for work in the industry. A good understanding of English is essential.
