Short Description
This course is for those already established in jobs in wines and spirits service. It may also be helpful for candidates on food and drink service courses. No formal qualifications required but basic English is required. You will explore a broad range of product categories in the field of wines and spirits together with the theory of tasting technique. On successful completion, candidates will be able to interpret the labels of the major wines and spirits of the world and give basic guidance on appropriate selection and service, as well as understand the principles of wine tasting and evaluation.
 
The course is made up of 16 hours of guided learning plus a 1 hour closed book examination. The course fee for this course is £320.00. This course runs frequently throughout the year - contact us for the latest dates.

Successful completion of this course could enable you to progress to the WSET Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Wines and Spirits or an alternative higher Level Westminster Kingsway College course.

This course is ideal for anyone wishing to be introduced to wine or sprits in an informative and structured manner. It is suitable for both the enthusiast and those looking to enter or already working in the wine and hospitality business requiring good level of product knowledge.
 
Comprehensive English skills are required. Please note these courses will require candidates to taste wine so applicants need to be 18 years old or over.
