Westminster Kingsway College has a number of classes for adults who want to learn English at many different community centres and venues across Camden. Courses are usually for 5 hours per week. You need to be a permanent resident or a registered asylum seeker to undertake this course. If you have just arrived and you want to start learning straight away you can join our 'Get Learning' courses. Any resident of Camden is eligible. Computer classes are available at many centres - do ask if you want to learn computer skills as well. Our courses start in September, January and April. Childcare Training in the community
The courses in childcare are designed primarily for adult learners wishing to achieve a qualification in childcare to help them to find employment in this area. There are various different types of courses, ranging from the Introduction to Childcare with ESOL Level 1 to the NVQ Level 2 in Children's Care, Learning & Development. Each of these courses includes a practical work placement as part of the course and the training takes place at community venues near to your home. The NVQ Level 2 certificate qualifies learners to work in childcare settings, such as schools, playgroups, private nurseries, creches etc. Learners can progress to the NVQ Level 3 course at the College's Kings Cross Centre.
