Apprenticeships
Westminster Kingsway College's renowned School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts offers two main Apprenticeship programmes in Professional Cookery and Hospitality Supervision which include vocational skills through College-based and work-based study.
Apprenticeships suit those who are working in the industry and would like to learn vocational skills on a day release basis or those who aspire to work in the hospitality industry and would like to combine a work placement with College study.
Apprenticeship in Professional Cookery (NVQs at Levels 2 and 3)
This programme of study gives you the opportunity to build your skills in the catering service environment whilst being employed. The Apprenticeship is a comprehensive work-based programme which leads to NVQ qualifications in Food Preparation & Cookery at Level 2 (Foundation) and Professional Cookery at Level 3 (Advanced).
Apprenticeship in Food and Beverage Service and Hospitality Supervision (NVQs at Level 2 and 3)
This programme gives you the opportunity to build your skills in the Restaurant Food and Beverage service environment whilst being employed. The Apprenticeship is a comprehensive work-based programme which leads to NVQ qualifications in Food and Beverage Service at Level 2 (Foundation) and Supervisory Studies at Level 3 (Advanced).
Apprenticeship in Hospitality Services (NVQ Level 2)
This programme gives you the opportunity to build your skills for working in the Hospitality sector in a combined role of front and back of house (dealing with customers, handling money and carrying out basic preparation and cooking activities). The Apprenticeship is a comprehensive work-based programme which leads to NVQ qualifications at Level 2.

The Apprenticeship programmes at Westminster Kingsway College have been developed in collaboration with industry partners and enable the trainee to benefit from paid employment alongside their training. The programmes involve study at College one day per week to build practical skills and knowledge in all areas of the industry; the Apprenticeship also includes further skills development and assessment in the workplace alongside the job. The apprenticeship programmes also include key skills such as communication, ICT and application of number e.g. menu costing. Apprentices study at Westminster Kingsway College's School of Hospitality at the Victoria Centre in central London.
