Linda Cross , BA (Hons) Hospitality and Business Management
Adult learner, Linda Cross discovered Westminster Kingsway College when she was working in central London and wanted to upgrade her skills in marketing and finance. She said "I was working for FCO Services, part of the Foreign Office in London, and was organising large government conferences. I wanted to find a course that would upgrade my skills and be convenient for work. This was important to me as I would be studying and working full-time. The Foundation Degree was the right course for me."
Linda found it was daunting coming back into a college after a break from education but soon settled into her lectures and was made to feel welcome. "I really enjoyed my lectures and meeting new people who all had different experiences of the industry. The College model really brought me into contact with different people."
Linda progressed with Westminster Kingsway College and has graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in Hospitality and Business Management just as she takes up a new job role with the Foreign Office where she has just been appointed as the British Ambassador to Ecuador. "I will certainly be making use of my skills from my degree programmes in my new role. The marketing and financial management skills will certainly be put to good use."
