Scott Blezard, Apprenticeship in Business & Administration NVQ Level 2, Employer Training Solutions

Apprentice Scott Blezard was looking for a new direction in his career. He had worked in a range of different jobs from retail to construction but nothing had really inspired him. He said: "I was looking for a work placement that would keep me interested and somewhere that I could learn new skills."

Scott heard about the Apprenticeship programme in Business and Administration NVQ Level 2 offered by Employer Training Solutions, through Westminster Kingsway College. He was offered a place on the Apprenticeship with a work placement at Westminster Kingsway College itself.

"I am really enjoying the Apprenticeship as I am working and learning at the same time. My IT and administration skills have increased rapidly and I have been looking after the enrolment of learners onto other programmes across the College. At the same time, I have been going to College myself one day a week and doing literacy and numeracy as part of the course so it has been really busy!"

Scott has also enjoyed some of the opportunities that have presented themselves while he has been working with the Employer Training Solutions team at the College.

"I have been mainly office based but I was asked to give a speech to a group of employers about the Apprenticeships programme. I never thought I would be able to do a presentation but it has really boosted my confidence. I also really enjoyed meeting the first winner of 'The Apprentice' TV show, Tim Campbell when he visited Westminster Kingsway College during Apprenticeships Week. It was really inspirational to meet someone like him who has succeeded in the world of business."
