16 March 2011
Westminster Kingsway College held its Student Achievement Awards at the King’s Cross Centre to celebrate the hard work of students who excelled this academic year.
The awards were in recognition of both 14-19 students and adult learners at the King’s Cross and Regent’s Park Centres, with nominations coming from teachers, tutors and staff from the Learning Centre and Student Activities. The award categories included best student group, awards for students who had excelled in individual learning and for students who had made exemplary progress in their learning.
Andy Wilson, Principal, said: “I would like to congratulate all of the winners for the fantastic job they have done. At Westminster Kingsway College we aim to support each other in achieving our goals so please motivate your fellow classmates so that they can end up with the same success that you have achieved.”
One of the awards for independent learner went to Health and Social Care student, Islamiat Arowosaye. Islamiat, (pictured centre) was chosen as she impressed her Tutors with her high level of progress and improvement shown in her work. She was also praised for her determination and focus in class.
Islamiat said: “I’m ecstatic and surprised to have won this award. I think my whole class is fantastic so to be singled out is a big deal for me. I hope to study Public Health at Canterbury Christchurch University and I am working hard so that my last year here will end on a high note.”
