Creative Industries Summer Show 2011
09 June 2011
Westminster Kingsway College presented the Creative Industries Summer Show at the King’s Cross Centre, exhibiting the work and installations from Art, Design, Fashion and Media students.
The exhibition was a culmination of the students work taken from their year of study. Highlights of the Show included an interactive media corner where visitors could experience student work digitally and a Video Image Animation show reel.
Norman Roberston, Head of Teaching and Learning for the Creative & Service Industries at Westminster Kingsway College, said: “The students have produced a portfolio of work which reflects all that they have learnt at College. We are giving them, creative and transferable skills that will equip them for any future career and, looking at the body of work here today, we can see good examples of this.”
Melike Mazi, BTEC Level 3 National Diploma Fashion student, presented fashion and design work inspired by her interpretation of fire. Melike plans to study BA Fashion Design at the University of Creative Arts.
Melike said: "Studying at Westminster Kingsway College has opened my eyes to different techniques and processes that make our final work so much richer. Even though I am studying fashion, I’ve been lucky to also learn photography and image manipulation. All this makes me a better Designer.”
