Westminster Kingsway College Christmas Fayre for Crisis at Christmas
15 December 2011
Westminster Kingsway College staff and students brought the spirit of Christmas to the King’s Cross Centre with the Camden Christmas Fayre, which raised money for homeless charity, Crisis at Christmas.
Visitors were treated to a range of festive themed stalls where they could purchase gifts and treats for the season created by College staff and students, including Christmas cards, cupcakes, cookies, mince pies, hot curries, jewellery and bags. Volunteering opportunities were also promoted from Euston Church as well as information about Crisis at Christmas.
A highlight of the Fayre was a visit by Father Christmas who entertained local Camden residents, staff and students. The event raised over £400 for Crisis at Christmas, with £110 donated by King’s Cross Centre ESOL students from the proceeds from their food stall.
Rebecca Greenwood, Westminster Kingsway College Curriculum Technical Facilitator, said: “The Christmas Fayre was a joint effort between staff and students through their enterprising initiatives to raise money for an important cause. We were pleased that so many people could take part in the event to promote their work during the festive season.”
