Adult Learners celebrate Childcare qualifications with Westminster Kingsway College title=

Adult Learners from north Westminster celebrated the completion of their childcare qualifications at a short presentation held at the Queen’s Park Children’s Centre in Westminster. The celebration marked the completion of the NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development with Westminster Kingsway College. The classes for this qualification were held at local venue, Gateway Primary School making it easier for learners to access their classes. The success of the course was evident in the number of students who have progressed from the Level 2 course to the Level 3 course and then into employment in children’s centres and nurseries in the local area.

The certificates were presented by Westminster Kingsway College Course Lecturer Tina Lane who said: “This was a great class who did really well to achieve their qualifications in a little over six months. It was a very supportive group and they are all going onto further study or employment which is great.”

Wafaa El Abbassi

NVQ Level 3 Children’s Care, Learning and Development

Wafaa wanted to study childcare to gain a UK qualification. She found out about the community based childcare courses with Westminster Kingsway College and completed the Level 3 course in Children’s Care, Learning and Development. “I have been learning about health and safety in the workplace, child protection and children’s behaviour – all key things for working in childcare. I have been working at a local nursery school for one and a half years and this course with Westminster Kingsway College has helped to boost my confidence and want to progress further.”

Deborah Massicott

NVQ Level 3 Children’s Care, Learning and Development

Deborah was working locally in childcare and wanted to develop her skills. “We were able to focus on key issues around childcare and gain a more in depth knowledge on this course. It has really helped my self-confidence and I am more confident about passing this knowledge onto others. My manager supported me and gave me the opportunity to attend the class in the afternoons which really helped me. The teachers from Westminster Kingsway College were great.”

The Childcare courses at Westminster Kingsway College have now changed to the new qualifications of the Certificate for Children's and Young People's Workforce Level 2 and the Diploma for Children's and Young People's Workforce Level 3.
