Westminster Kingsway College held its Student Awards Ceremony at the King’s Cross Centre to celebrate the hard work of students who have excelled at the College.
The awards were in recognition of both 14-19 and adult learners at the King’s Cross Centre, with nominations coming from teachers, tutors and staff from the Learning Centre and Learner Experience Team. The award categories included best learner group, awards for learners who had excelled in individual learning, and for those who had made exemplary progress in their learning.
Kim Caplin, Vice Principal 14–19 Pathways, said: “I would like to congratulate all of the winners for the fantastic job they have done. Let our Student Awards be a celebration of what we have achieved as a College and a constant reminder to our students to always aim higher.”
BTEC Level 3 National Dance student, Chloe Zei-Mun Chan, was one of the winners of the Distance Travelled Award. Chloe, (pictured far right) was chosen as she has made excellent progress since joining the course. She was also praised for 100% punctuality and attendance alongside outstanding work with theatre and dance companies.
Chloe said: “I am really happy that I am studying at Westminster Kingsway College. I chose to study here because the teachers seemed passionate about our learning and they made me feel welcome. They are really focused on developing my skills as a dancer. I don’t feel restricted and I am able to express myself. The best thing about studying here though, is the confidence it gives me to work on external projects with companies such as Dance United and the London Performance Company. With Westminster Kingsway College, the sky’s the limit.”
