Parents and children from Westminster Kingsway College’s nurseries and crèches celebrate together at their end of term party
13 December 2010
Childcare children and staff from the nurseries and crèches at Westminster Kingsway College have held their annual Christmas celebration.
The Childcare team have also joined forces with a local theatre company, Jumping Beans, who deliver customised drama and music workshops for the young. The team have been able to ensure that every community crèche as well as the nurseries have had a session with Jumping Beans. This included a joint session with the children from the local Somers Town Community Nursery to join the WKC team when Jumping Beans visited the crèche at the Somers Town Community Centre.
Jumping Beans led the Christmas party this year with a highly interactive show of songs, dance snowflakes and swirling lights! Every child received healthy party food bags and a book to take home. The audience included College adult learners and their young children from both the College’s community classes and its main centres.
Jenny Trapp, Childcare Co-ordinator at Westminster Kingsway College, said: “The event was a great success for everybody. We really wanted to reach out to all of our students who are parents. We are very proud of the Childcare facilities at the College as it empowers the students and allows them to attend classes and grow in their education and career progression. We are very pleased that the Nursery at Regent’s Park Centre has been elected to go forward onto Camden’s Register of Best Practice (RoBP) for Early Years provision and so we wanted to send a big thank you to all the childcare teams for all their commitment.”
