Help Haiti Variety Show at Westminster Kingsway College

Westminster Kingsway Performing Arts students came together yesterday to put on a variety show in the King’s Cross Centre Theatre to raise money for the victims of the Haiti Earthquake disaster.

The show was produced by staff and students who gave up their spare time to perform their own original performances and cover material. There were two shows, one in the afternoon and another in the evening with volunteers also collecting donations from staff and students in the King’s Cross Centre.

The variety show included singing, monologue pieces and contemporary dance performances. The audience also heard narration of the story behind the Haiti disaster since the earthquake occurred last month.

Shelley Wilson, Westminster Kingsway Performing Arts Tutor, said: "The students have been proactive and generous with their time. Performing Arts staff and students all came together because we wanted to produce a quality show that would raise money for the people of Haiti."

Solomon Agudogo, first year BTEC National Diploma Musical Theatre student, said: "It’s great how the students from different classes all came together. The team atmosphere here is one of the reasons I chose to study at WKC."
