Capital City College Training Supports London’s Businesses

Wednesday 3 May 2017

Post-Brexit Britain may be a worrying time for British businesses, particularly in the capital, with a significant percentage concerned that Brexit will create challenges in recruitment, and training. It’s crucial that businesses meet this challenge head-on and invest in our domestic workforce by recruiting motivated apprentices to make up the anticipated skills shortfall.  Together, City and Islington College and Westminster Kingsway College train and educate nearly 27,000 students across a range of subjects and disciplines. Our apprentices have been placed with businesses across the capital, with some individuals already having been acknowledged as ‘outstanding’ in delivering for their employers.

Apprenticeship Excellence Awards 2017

The inaugural Capital City College Training Awards took place at February’s event. Nominations for excellence were submitted from across the Group and from multiple sectors and were whittled down to 22 apprentices, most of whom attended the event at Westminster Kingsway College’s Victoria Centre in London, SW1.

Andy Wilson, CEO, announced the winners who were presented with awards by Jules Pipe. Featured employers at the event were Ernst & Young, G4S, Camden Council and the Ivy.

Apprenticeship Levy

CCCT offers additional support to business through seminars and workshops on the Apprenticeship Levy. Capital City College Training’s website is available for businesses to explore content and to source more information about apprenticeships and traineeships. This interim site will feature focused guidance and news for London businesses interested in Capital City College Training’s range of services.
