Westminster Kingsway presents 'The Cranberry Chronicles'
Westminster Kingsway BTEC National Diploma Acting students performed 'The Cranberry Chronicles' to a sold-out audience this week at the College's new King's Cross theatre.
The play, devised by second year students,
follows the story of a group of modern day
teenagers who find themselves trapped in an
amusement park and must solve and set to
rights the mystery of a wronged love story of
the past to be able to be released.
The engaging script held a captive audience
with wit, music and a powerful performance
by all.
The play is part of the students' assessment focusing on storyline, script and character formation as well as how they work together as a team.
Sharon McKevitt, Westminster Kingsway Performing Arts tutor, said: "The students have worked very hard to create a piece of theatre that is both entertaining and has a smart storyline. They have learnt the skills needed to try and achieve a good balance between the two."
Shinaide Cameron (pictured right), second year BTEC
National Diploma Acting student, plays the character of
Lil Tiff. Shinaide said: "It was a real challenge to find
ways to make the characters work but we just kept
trying different things until the pieces fitted together.
Working together like this is one of my favourite things
about studying at the College; there is always a friendly
atmosphere."
