Chris Jones is currently studying the Certificate in
Personnel Practice (CPP) course at the Victoria Centre.
He has worked at the College for over a year and is
the Call Centre Manager at the St James's Park Centre.
He said, "I chose the course because WKC has been running
it for some years and the course content really appealed
to me. I was interested to learn about the laws, policies
and processes that are involved in managing people,
and as the College has a good reputation for this course
it was an easy decision to make!"
The CPP course is accredited
by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development
(CIPD) and is designed to enable people who are working
within personnel management or related functions to
acquire skills with which to become more effective in
their jobs. Chris deals with a wide range of people
on a daily basis in his role as Call Centre Manager
and said, "The course has really helped my understanding
of Human Resources (HR) and I think I've definitely
learnt things I can apply to my job".
"Although the assignments
can be difficult in terms of balancing work commitments,
the extra work is worth it; I'm learning new skills
every week. The tutors are always willing to help out
where they can and the other people I've met on the
course are excellent. Everyone is in the same boat so
we help each other," he said.
