Jermaine Weeks
Hospitality & Catering
Seventeen-year-old student, Jermaine
Weeks, is coming to the end of his first year of a three-year
Professional Chef Diploma at Westminster Kingsway College
and was one of the three finalists at the ‘New
Ways With Bramley’ competition. Jermaine said
he is really enjoying the course and is very excited
about progressing to the second year. Jermaine was previously
doing a GNVQ in Catering & Hospitality at the college,
so decided to take the Professional Chef Diploma at
Vincent Square. Jermaine said, “I knew it was
one of the best colleges in the country for what I wanted
to do. I would definitely recommend it, no doubt”.
Jermaine was very surprised to discover that he was
one of the finalists for the competition, “I couldn’t
believe it when I found out, I thought it was a joke
at first!” Jermaine has wanted to be a chef for
as long as he can remember, “When I was a child
I used to sit on the floor and bang pots and pans. I’ve
always wanted to be a chef so this is such a great opportunity
for me”. He would eventually like to become a
head chef at a hotel kitchen.
