Peter
Cox
Having taught English
as a Foreign Language in Japan for six years, Peter
Cox recently returned to the UK and decided to study
the part-time CELTA course at the St James's Park Centre.
"I chose WKC because I was really impressed by the credentials
of the tutors. They all have a great deal of experience
in their field, especially compared to other colleges
I looked at. The location's great for me as well, being
so near to Victoria Station," he said.
Peter lived and worked
in range of locations throughout Japan, spending two
years near Osaka, three years in Hyogo and one year
in Saitama, near Tokyo. He said, "I really enjoyed my
time in Japan but I now I need the CELTA qualification
so I can fill in my knowledge gaps and have the opportunity
to teach in Europe".
Peter said, "I've really
enjoyed the input sessions so far and the feedback from
teaching practise has been brilliant. It's been good
meeting new people as well". When he has completed his
CELTA course, Peter would like to progress to the CELTA
Module 2 at WKC. "I'm hoping to get a job in Further
Education in London, Teaching English as an Additional
Language (TEAL). Eventually I'd like to teach in a university,
in Japan or perhaps in China," he said.
