Ricardo
Ceccherini
Ricardo is originally from Italy
and had been studying in London, when a friend suggested
he visit the Kentish Town Centre of Westminster Kingsway
College to look at the work produced by students. Ricardo
loved what he saw and decided that he wanted to enrol
on a one-year foundation course in BTEC Art and Design.
“The best part of the course has been the tutors,
they’ve all been very helpful and they know so
much about what they’re teaching”, he said.
Ricardo had two untitled pieces on display
at the end-of-year show, which took him two months to
complete. Ricardo explained, “I wanted to make
something that looks heavy but is in fact very light,
because I think things in life can become too heavy,
and we should all try to see things in a lighter sense”.
Ricardo said, “Although the course
is hard work, I’ve really enjoyed the different
elements of it”. He is now studying a BA in Fine
Art at one of the top Art Colleges in England, Goldsmith
University, where such artists as Damien Hirst and Julian
Opie studied. Ricardo said “I would definitely
recommend the Kentish Town Centre of this college for
anyone wishing to do a Foundation Course in Art and
Design”.
