Arrangements are being put in place to ensure that our current students receive their results for their current course. We are receiving guidance from the various awarding bodies to ensure that students are treated as fairly as possible and can progress onto the next stage of their education or into employment.
We hope that by 11 June, we will have sufficient information to let students know how their grades will be collated. These grades will have equal status at universities, colleges and employers and certificates will look the same as they do in any other year. All results will be released in August. The awarding bodies have asked us not to share grades with our students until results day, as this information is confidential.
We know that some of our continuing students, and new students joining us in September 2020 are eager to return to ‘in person’ teaching at our outstanding college sites, whilst some are very nervous.
Online teaching continues and we are working on plans for online delivery to continue, for new and continuing students, in September 2020. At the same time, we are also working on plans for a possible return to ‘in person’ teaching in our college buildings, when it is safe to do so.
These plans are helping us to see how we could allow some students back into college for some of their lessons. It’s a very complicated situation and, although we have not made any decisions, we are looking at how we can create and maintain a safe environment for students and our staff. We will keep you updated as our plans evolve.
Thank you for your continued support and keep safe.
