ABOUT THE COURSE
This course will provide you with an introduction to both the creative and technical aspects of creative media production, allowing you to develop skills, knowledge and understanding to progress to further study and employment within the creative industries. Our King's Cross Centre is fully equipped with the latest state-of-the-art facilities, including high-spec computer suites, sound studios, film and TV editing and recording studios and music rooms, replicating the workplace for your studies.
WHAT WILL I STUDY?
Topics covered can include: Introduction to media industries Media audiences Research for media production Factual programming Video production Print or audio production Animation and gamesPhotography Production
WHAT WILL I NEED?
You will need: Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above in English Language and Maths, or relevant Level 1 qualification with Functional Skills English and Maths at Level 1 All applicants must have an interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
The course is assessed throughout the year and with an end-of-course portfolio.
WHAT WILL IT COST?
School Leavers
If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. WHAT CAN I DO AFTER?
This course will help you to move on to higher level courses, such as a Level 3 course or an apprenticeship.

Gen
Creative Media - Level 3 DiplomaGen joined Westminster Kingsway College to undertake a Level 3 Creative Media Diploma.
Gen was guided through our Level 3 Creative Media qualifications, gained valuable knowledge experience on our GLA funded VFX bootcamp, which ultimately led to his successful application to a Visual Effects Level 4 Apprenticeship.
Gen is now working as a Junior Roto and Paint Artist at Industrial Light and Magic, one of the most prestigious global VFX companies.
