This course gives you an introduction to the world of Professional Cookery.

There are less units thatn the main Professional Chef Diploma Level 1 course for individuas who are looking to focus on an intrductory course.  

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

Topics covered can include:

  • Practical Cuisine
  • The principles of cookery - baking, roasting, grilling, stewing, braising, boiling, poaching, steaming and colld food production.
  • Pastry and Bakery
  • Health and Safety and Food hygiene
  • Work experience

WHAT WILL I NEED?

You do not need to have any previous qualifications.

All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

The course is assessed throughout the year with practical assignments and written tests.

WHAT WILL IT COST?

Uniform costs are required for this course which will cost around £350.

WHAT CAN I DO AFTER?

This course will help you to move on to higher level courses, such as Professional Chef Diploma or an apprenticeship.
