About The Course

If you have an interest in music performance or production, this course will help you explore and extend your passion through a full-time, immersive learning experience. You will study and develop your music performance and production skills, as well as learn transferable skills that can be used within the music industry and beyond.

What Will I Study?

Topics covered can include:

  • Introduction to music performance
  • Introduction to music production
  • Listening skills for music performance and production
  • Exploring music composition
  • Contextual research for music performance and production
  • Music performance skills and practice
  • Music production skills and practice
  • Music performance and production project

What Will I Need?

You will need:

  • Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above in English Language and Maths, or equivalent Functional Skills
  • A reference from your previous school/college

All applicants must have an interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

How Will I Be Assessed?

The course is assessed throughout the year and with an end-of-course portfolio.

What Will It Cost?

School Leavers

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. Adults

Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2
If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free, depending on your circumstances.
