MEET SOME OF THE TEACHERS

Kate Stephens

Kate has owned a Building and Design company for over 30 years and has worked in other countries on major refurbishment projects. Kate is solution-orientated and organised and enjoys challenges.

Before leaving the UK in 2005, Kate was responsible for the setting up of a training facility for the London Borough of Bromley to train individuals to NVQ standards. Each refurbishment led to other requirements from customers, and she learned a lot in a very short amount of time.

Kate is competent in tiling, plumbing, carpentry, hanging doors, skirting, architrave, stud walls and laying bricks. Her skills have led to managing bigger projects and more responsibilities. Kate has worked in London, Paris and Mallorca on very high-end refurbishments. She has a good knowledge of written and spoken Spanish.

After returning from Mallorca, where she lived for 10 years, Kate decided to go into teaching because she wanted to share her knowledge. Kate has a lot of experience in assessing learners' work and training the tutors to assess correctly as required by the awarding body.

Kate has delivered various qualifications including Multi-skills, Carpentry and Plumbing, City and Guilds, Painting and Decorating Levels 1 and 2, Employability, and Level 1 Diploma City and Guilds. She has also delivered CSCS cards, Health and Safety, Scaffolding and Dry Lining. Kate’s skills are very varied, and she is keen to develop her professional skills. Kate’s main focus at work is to ensure that the learners have the best experience and enjoy learning on the course.
