You will need to apply to become a member of the Craft Guild of Chefs to enrol. A fee is payable to the Craft Guild of Chefs for programme membership, masterclasses, judging and the Craft Guild's Stockpot Magazine subscription.
All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.
The course is assessed throughout with practical assignments and written tests.
If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, and reside in London, your course may be free, depending on your circumstances. Tuition fees will be discussed at interview for those who do not reside in a London postcode borough.
You will be expected to have suitable uniform and equipment for the programme, which reflect both industry norms and safety requirements. Costs will depend on your current equipment and workwear, but will be a maximum of £350; further information will be provided at enrolment.
Successful completion of this course could enable you to progress within a variety of kitchen environments or to a Level 4 course such as the Foundation Degree in Culinary Arts.
