This course is aimed at Learners aged 16-18 whose first language is not English. You will study vocational units which will help you learn skills for employment and further study. You will also study ESOL, working towards the Entry 3 Certificate in ESOL, and maths.

You need to be at Entry 3 Level for ESOL.
You will be required to do a short test in English and Maths and have an interview to enable us to place you on a course that meets your needs.
For the ESOL component of the course, you will take exams in Speaking & Listening, Reading and Writing. You will also take a Functional Skills Maths exam.
If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. After completing this course, you will be able to progress to a Level 1 vocational course. Your tutors and the college careers team can help you choose the course that is right for you.
