The course includes a tutored tasting of nine wines.
Our teachers are currently planning for the safest ways to deliver this course from September. We have been delivering all of our courses online since the outbreak of Coronavirus in March 2020, and we are fully equipped to continue this for as long as is necessary. We hope to be able to deliver the course in a mixed format - blending online lessons with face-to-face teaching – as and when we feel that, on the basis of Government advice and our own risk assessments, it is safe to do so. The ratio of face-to-face teaching in our college buildings to online teaching will vary from course to course, so more specific information will be provided to you at enrolment.
Topics covered can include:
You do not need to have any previous qualifications, but you will need a comprehensive knowledge of English.
You will need to be aged 18 or over before starting this course, as it requires the tasting of alcoholic wines.
This course is examined with a 45 minute multiple choice question paper consisting of 30 questions.
The pass mark is 70% and the exam takes place in the last session of each course.
Successful completion of this course could enable you to progress to the WSET Level 2 Certificate in Wines and Spirits or an alternative higher Level Westminster Kingsway College course.
