Entry Requirements

Society, Health and Development
Entry Requirement

This course is suitable for students aged 21 or over. Applicants aged 19 or 20 will also be considered if you have experience outside of full-time education, for example through work or travel.

Applicants will be assessed through application, interview and tests in English and Maths. Applicants for a Degree in health sciences are expected to have some experience of voluntary or paid work in a health care setting. Ideally you should also have some knowledge of a science-based subject or have a science-based GCSE or equivalent qualification.

GCSE requirements for Access applicants:

In order to progress to certain Higher Education courses, you may require GCSE English and/or GCSE Maths to fulfil your university entry requirements.

Ideally you will already have GCSE Maths and English at grade A*-C. However we understand that not all students meet this requirement and so you will be considered for an Access course if you have one GCSE at grade A*-C in Maths or English and the other at grade D.

A GCSE or functional skills course will be offered as an additional option for the Access course - please note that some GCSE classes may be delivered in the evening.

If you don't have any GCSEs or equivalent qualifications then we will be able to recommend you for another course based on the results of your initial assessment at interview.

All fees will be confirmed when you enrol onto your course. All students are fee assessed at enrolment
