The CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) is the industry recognised body for HR qualifications and is widely recognised by employers.
The Foundation Diploma in Human Resource Practice Level 3 is the first building block for a career in HR. The Level 3 course is suitable for those who are just starting out in their HR careers and wish to build on their existing experience and for those who are thinking of changing career and wish to develop the skills and knowledge for entry into the HR profession. The Level 3 course focuses on providing students with the skills and confidence to be able to carry out HR practices in the workplace.
Alongside this, you will have the opportunity to meet and develop networks with other students, have access to the CIPD branch events and gain skills such as negotiating, influencing, team-working and time-management.
The course is currently made up of the following units:
• Developing yourself as an effective HR Practitioner
• Understanding organisations and the role of HR
• Supporting change within organisations
• Delivering Learning and Development activities
• Supporting good practice in managing employment relations
• Resourcing talent
• Recording, analysing and using HR information
• Supporting good practice in performance and reward management
Students will be expected to take out CIPD membership when they join the course, at an additional cost of £90 per year plus a £40 joining fee (subject to change).
The course fee includes materials and assessment fees.
This course is eligible for an advanced learner loan.
Application form/students will also be required to attend an interview with one of the course tutors.
Previous students have obtained roles as HR administrators and advisors or have used the learning gained on this course as part of a broader management role that requires knowledge of Human Resources.
Further study of CIPD qualifications at Levels 5 and 7 is also an option for HR practitioners who have gained relevant experience and wish to progress into HR management and roles.
A keen interest in working within a HR role. Previous HR experience is not compulsory. You must have a minimum English language level equivalent to IELTS 4.5.
