About the Course

The qualification is suitable for learners who:

  • Want to progress to/within further education or higher education in health and social care
  • Need to develop advanced learning to learn skills
  • Are seeking to take on increased responsibilities in their current job role
  • Are seeking to enter new work areas
  • Are looking to update and/or add to their employment skills and knowledge.

What you will study

The content covers a wide range of vocational units relating to health and social care, for example :-

  • Communication in Health and Social Care
  • Equality and Inclusion in Health, Social Care or Children's and Young People's Settings
  • Working in Health and Social Care
  • Care Planning Skills for the Care Worker
  • Care of the Elderly
  • Dementia Awareness
  • Duty of Care in Health and Social Care
  • Moving and Positioning Individuals

Functional Skills Maths and or English will be available as options on the course.

Access Method

Learners will be assessed within a range of activities such as presentations, projects, report. Learners will produce a portfolio of assessed evidence.

The portfolios of assessed evidence will be externally moderated by an OCN London External Moderator.

Progression

This qualification provides a sound basis for learners to progress within their existing or a new employment sector, Level 3 qualifications, apprenticeships.
