About the Course
BTEC Level 3 Certificates are vocational qualifications that provide specialist, work-related learning in a range of sectors. They are equivalent to, and are worth the same UCAS points as, the first year of an A Level (previously an AS Level). We offer a range of these qualifications in vocational subjects that you can use to make up your study programme.
You may choose to study 1 or more of these subjects as part of an A Level programme (subject to availability) or tag them onto another Level 3 vocational course. You would complete the qualification over 2 years.
What you will study
You will work on solo and ensemble pieces to develop performance techniques, and complete units such as Working and developing as a musical ensemble and Pop Music in Practice.
Although the emphasis is on practical assignments, you will need to complete written assessments in the form of evaluative log books and rehearsal diaries and contextual and business studies.
Progress to a wide range of degree and other higher education courses, apprenticeships or employment.
Four GCSEs at grade 4 or above including GCSE English Language and Maths, or an equivalent Level 2 qualification at grade Merit or above and a good reference.
