About the Course
UAL Diplomas are level 3 vocational qualifications that provide specialist, work-related learning in a range of sectors. They are equivalent to, and are worth the same UCAS points as, 1.5 A Level qualifications. We offer a range of these qualifications in vocational subjects that you can use to make up your study programme.
You may choose to study 1 or more of these subjects as part of an A Level programme (subject to availability) or tag them onto another Level 3 vocational course. You would complete the qualification over 2 years.
What you will study
You will explore a variety of photographic techniques and develop skills and understanding of Visual recording in Art & Design; Photographic media, techniques and technology; Digital image capture and editing.
Although the emphasis is on practical assignments, you will need to complete extensive research and produce written assessments in the form of contextual and evaluative log books/ portfolios.
Progress to a wide range of degree and other higher education courses, apprenticeships or employment.
General A Level entry requirements: Three GCSEs at grade 5 or above plus two further GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English Language and a written subject (not including Languages). You will also need a good reference.
