Access to HE Diploma
The lecturers are great on this course and I have learnt a lot while improving my English. I hope to study International Politics at university and become a political activist.
Access to Higher Education
Westminster Kingsway College offers a wide range of Access to Higher Education Diploma courses for learners who wish to progress onto University Level study and is one of the biggest providers of these courses in London. Many of our Access to Higher Education courses take place at the College's Soho Centre, near Oxford Circus with some courses taking place at the Victoria Centre or Regent's Park Centre.
Access courses are for students aged 21 or over, who wish to return to education to prepare for studying for a Higher Education course. If you are aged 19 or 20 will also be considered if you already have some experience outside of full time education (for example through work or travel). If you are aged 19 or over and thinking about Further Education - Advanced Learning Loans are available for Access to Higher Education courses. Please click on the link for further information.
GCSE requirements for Access applicants: In order to progress to certain Higher Education courses, you may require GCSE English and/or GCSE Maths to fulfil your university entry requirements. Ideally you will already have GCSE Maths and English at grade A*-C. However we understand that not all students meet this requirement and so you will be considered for an Access course if you have one GCSE at grade A*-C in Maths or English and the other at grade D. A GCSE or functional skills course will be offered as an additional option for the Access course – please note that some GCSE classes may be delivered in the evening. If you don’t have any GCSEs or equivalent qualifications then we will be able to recommend you for another course based on the results of your initial assessment at interview.
For all Access to Higher Education (HE) courses: Student Finance England will 'write off' any outstanding Advanced Learner Loan balances you owe for an Access to HE course once you complete a higher education course. This means you don't have to repay it.
