This is an introductory course to the industry behind importing and exporting goods. This course will be delivered over six sessions two days per week, across three weeks. The course will include assignments and class discussion which your tutor will guide you through.

Session 1 - Modes of Transport
Objective: To understand the various modes of transport used in the Import/Export sector.
Session 2 - Importing Goods into the UK
Objective: To comprehend the steps involved in importing goods into the UK
Session 3 – Restrictions in the movement of goods
Objective: To understand restrictions and regulations affecting the movement of goods.
Session 4 - Risks in International Trade
Objective: To recognise the potential risks involved in international trade and how to mitigate them
Session 5 - External Landscape
Objective: To analyse the various external factors influencing the logistics in Import/Export sector Session six (as required) wrap up session/tutorial

Please be prepared to provide your residency documents such as a passport, EU citizen ID card, UK Birth Certificate or Biometric Card. If you have been in the UK for less than 3 years or have entered the UK with a visa you will need to provide evidence that you are eligible to study in the UK - your visa, your biometric card that covers the duration of your course or any relevant home office documents to support your residency should all be uploaded.
If you’re an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen we will need to see evidence of 'Pre-Settled' or 'Settled-status' documents. Also for funding purposes we would need to see evidence of payslips if working (within the last 3 months). If you are receiving benefits (e.g JSA, ESA, Universal Credit (UC), Housing benefits etc. please bring evidence of this).
You will be required to do assignments and tasks in class and home study, able to meet deadlines and respond to tutor feedback so that your assignments are to a level 2 standard.
You may progress on to further studies.
