Record-breaking high grade A-Level results for Westminster Kingsway College students

Students at Westminster Kingsway College are celebrating record-breaking pass rates and high grades in their A Level results. A third of the students gained A*- B grades and two thirds A*- C grades with 100% achievement in 10 A Level subjects, including English, Sociology and Physics. There was a 96% pass rate overall.

Westminster Kingsway College Vice Principal Mark Hilton commented: 

“In the first year of the new linear A levels, Westminster Kingsway College is celebrating record breaking high grades.”

“These are truly outstanding results, in a year when there has been uncertainty about how the new linear A Levels would impact on exam results.”

“The new A Levels require more depth and knowledge from students to succeed so these results are really are an amazing achievement. Congratulations to all the students and the hard working staff who make A Levels a big success at London’s number one college.”

 

A Level student Anna Smith, aged 18, achieved A*A*A in her A Levels and A* in her EPQ. She is going to study Politics at Leeds University and said: “I am ecstatic, surprised and so excited to be going to university.

“I just want to thank the teachers who gave extra help and really go out of their way to help you achieve your best.”

A Level student Anna Kano, aged 18,  is now heading to Oxford University to study Psychology, said: “I am over the moon; I got all the grades I needed and I’m so excited to be going to Oxford. I just want to thank all of my teachers who pushed me to achieve my best.”

Alimat Bankole, aged 20, gained high results in her IT Software Development BTEC Extended Diploma – but chose to take an Apprenticeship route to Higher Education. She has been sponsored by an investment bank to study Digital Technology Solutions at Exeter University. She said:

“I am really relieved to get the results I needed. I chose an apprenticeship because you get the best of both worlds; a university degree, four years of experience working in the industry, a full salary and no debts.”

The following A-Level subjects all had a 100 per cent pass rate:

  • Media Studies
  • Government and Politics
  • Philosophy
  • Physics
  • Biology
  • English Language
  • English Literature
  • History
  • Film Studies
  • Sociology
