Westking culinary students to cook up a storm in cook-off final

Thursday 30 November 2017

Westminster Kingsway College is delighted to announce that a team of its culinary students will compete in the final of the fifth annual Zest Quest Asia competition.

Westking will compete in the cook-off against Colchester Institute, North Hertfordshire College, Sheffield Hallam University, The Sheffield College and University of West London after esteemed chef, Cyrus Todiwala, announced the finalists following the completion of a round of paper judging.

The final will be held on Monday 12 February 2018 in Mr Todiwala’s Kitchen, the signature restaurant of gold sponsor, Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5. The winners will be announced at a gala dinner later that evening.

Ashley Spencer, Chef Lecturer at Westking, said:

“We’re delighted that our students have won through to this prestigious cook-off.  In all, 46 teams entered and only six have made it.  We’ve won this before and we’re hoping to be successful again.”

Zest Quest Asia was set up in 2013 by Cyrus and Pervin Todiwala, to help increase the popularity of Asian cuisine, and the competition winners can look forward to a trip to one of Asia’s culinary capitals as their prize.

Good luck to our students competing, everyone at Westking will be cheering you on!
