Westking student gets into world-leading drama school, LAMDA

Friday 13 July 2018

A huge congratulations to Tobi-King Bakare, who has been offered a place at LAMDA, one of the world’s leading drama schools.

Tobi was selected out of tens of thousands of applicants and offered a place on the university’s prestigious Professional Acting BA course.

Bakare has always wanted to be a professional actor and studied our Performing Arts Level 3 UAL diploma, was full of praise for his drama tutor, Rob Alexander: “Rob’s been amazing – really helpful, a great teacher and also a great actor himself. He would always go the extra mile to help and encourage me, he’d even let me rehearse and practice in the drama rooms outside of lesson time.”

One of Tobi-King’s proudest accomplishments at WKC was when he performed the critically acclaimed Fog Everywhere play with the Camden People’s Theatre at a Camden council meeting on environmental issues, he said: “I’m proud of my achievements so far and wouldn’t have had the confidence to do them without the help of WKC.”

Congratulations, Tobi! See you on the red carpet!
